Burglars To be Tried
LOGAN, Utah- Thursday Feb. 1st Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse was broken into. Two individuals have been arrested and charged with felony burglary.
The preliminary hearing was held today to determine if there was sufficient evidence to hold a trial. Forensic evidence was presented and found to be enough to set a court hearing for March 21, 2008. District Attorney Noel Mayfield is the prosecuting attorney on the case and is seeking for maximum punishment because both individuals have prior records and have worked together on previous law infractions.
Robbie Cochran, defense attorney, says that he is “surprised that the judge ordered trial based on evidence,” and that it will be an interesting trial because Judge Alan Mayfield, no relation to Noel Mayfield, is unpredictable. Cochran says that his client is innocent, “and you don’t need to prove innocence.”
Jim Michaels, 35 faces six months to a year in prison due to the previous infractions followed by this burglary of the LDS meetinghouse. He is free on a $5000 bond. The name of the other individual is not being released because he is a minor.

You used AP style really well. You have already begun to understand AP style and applied it to your article. Good job. The use of quotes that you did have are good; I would consider using at least one more quote, however, especially from Noel Mayfield. But this is one of the better articles that I've read in the class.
